The next meeting of the Connecticut Caterers Association has been set. We are meeting on Monday, May 4th, 2009 at 6pm at Emily's Catering Group in Forestville. Emily's is located at 105 Central Street, Forestville, CT 06010. Visit www.emilyscater.com for directions.

This meeting's featured speaker is Nicole Griffin from the Connecticut Restaurant Association. Nicole will speak about the benefits of the CRA and we will explore how our group might benefit from reforming under the CRA umbrella.

Economic trouble takes its toll on the average wedding cost. The average cost of a wedding in 2008 was $21,814. This is a 24% decline over the 2007 average of $28,704. The estimated 2008 market value is $61.4 billion.

The CCA held it's winter meeting this past Monday at Amarantes Sea Cliff in New Haven. Special thanks to Grace Hurley for her hospitality in hosting this meeting.

John Phillips-Sandy from FoodShare spoke about the benefits of FoodShare and how our group might come together to help feed hungry people here in Connecticut.
